Willemijn studied law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam, where she specialised in Maritime and Transport Law. She started her career in the maritime insurance industry in 2015 and subsequently became a qualified lawyer (advocaat) in 2018. Over the years, she has worked at renowned law firms, where she advised on complex matters in maritime law, international trade, and cross-border disputes, representing clients such as shipowners, insurers, banks, and companies in the offshore industry. Her activities also included litigation, arbitration and contract negotiations.
Willemijn has a strong understanding of client interests and business priorities, shaped by her experience as legal counsel at an international offshore construction company. She combines legal expertise with a commercial mindset, focus on strategy, and an awareness of cross-cultural dynamics in international business.

Registered with the Dutch Bar Association (NOvA) in the principal (and subspecialist) areas of Transport and Commercial Law and Civil Procedural Law (arbitration, attachment and enforcement law, litigation).
On the basis of this registration, she is required to obtain ten continuing professional education credits in each registered practice area in every calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association.
